The first edition of Samplitude was completed in 1992. It was primarily a sample editor featuring 24-bit audio processing and was written for the Amiga platform by software developer Titus Tost. "Samplitude Pro II" already included hard disk recording in 1993.
The switchover to the C++ programming language required a transfer to Windows 3.11 in 1993, which was also successfully completed in the summer of that year. With "Samplitude Studio" the application was presented to an international audience for the first time at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, USA, under the company name SEK'D. Cooperation with MAGIX AG commenced in the same year. 1998 saw the introduction of the first Samplitude version with native 32-bit float processing of audio data. The first Sequoia edition was developed in December 2000.
