Grammy-Awards for Samplitude- and Sequoia-productions


The most important awards ceremony in the music industry was held in Los Angeles on 26th January – The Grammys.
Among the winners of the 56th Grammy Awards were our long-standing customers, BIS records and the NDR.


The Swedish label BIS records was awarded “Best Orchestral Performance” for their album “Sibelius – Symphonies 1 & 4”. The award-winning album was recorded together with the Minnesota Orchestra in the Minneapolis Orchestra Hall.

The NDR symphony orchestra won the “Best Classical Compendium” category with their rendition of a Paul Hindemith violin concerto, which was recorded to mark the 50th anniversary of the composer’s death. The CD “Hindemith: Violinkonzert – Symphonic Metamorphosis – Konzertmusik, op. 50”, recorded in collaboration in the violinist Midori, was released on the Ondine label.

Tritonus, the Stuttgart based music production company were awarded “Best Choral Performance” for their ECM production “Arvo Pärt: Adams Lament”. The recording producers for this production were Peter Laenger and Stephan Schellmann.
